Andy Murray has posted a positive update in his recovery from a long-term hip injury.
The former world number one has had two operations on an injury that has troubled him for a number of years.
The 31-year-old announced his intention to bow out of the sport earlier this year and revealed the 2019 Australian Open could well be his last ever tournament.
But Murray underwent hip resurfacing surgery in January in an attempt to prolong his career.
Last month, he reported that he was pain free in his hip but remained unsure if he would be able to play top-level tennis again.
It appears that he is progressing as he posted a video of himself, on Instagram, hitting a tennis ball with the caption ‘it’s a start’.
Murray could be seen hitting forehands and backhands against an outdoor wall.

It is the first footage of the former Wimbledon champion playing tennis since he lost to Roberto Bautista Agut in five sets at the Australian Open.
Murray’s mum, Judy, retweeted the video with the caption: “Where there’s a wall, there’s a way.”
