Emma Raducanu’s company records staggering profit which dwarfs £200,000 prize money

Emma Raducanu’s company posted profits of nearly £10million, according to a recent filing on companies house.

Raducanu is the sole director of Harbour 6 Limited, a company that was incorporated in 2020.

According to the latest documents, with its tax year ending on February 28, Harbour 6 Limited had profit of £9.6m.

The 21-year-old’s on court prize money to date is around £3.2m, with around £1.8m of that coming in her remarkable US Open win in 2021.

Injuries have continued to plague her progress on the court, with a triple surgery ending her 2023 season in May.

This meant she earned less than £200,000 that year in prize money, while in 2022 she made around £600,000.

This means the bulk of her income has come from lucrative sponsorship deals.

She has nine major sponsors and these include Wilson, Nike, British Airways, Evian, Tiffany, Dior, HSBC, Vodafone and Porsche.

In 2024, Raducanu will be hoping to get back to her best and there are early signs she is finding form.

At Indian Wells, she made it into the third round before losing a close match with Aryna Sabalenka.

She produced a dazzling performance to help Britain beat France in the Billie Jean King Cup, beating Caroline Garcia and Diane Parry to send the team through to the finals.

This week in Stuttgart, Raducanu thrashed Angelique Kerber 6-2 6-1 to reach the second round.

Emma Raducanu reveals gruelling reality of midnight physio session as she continues brilliant return to form

Emma Raducanu has revealed the gruelling reality of her impressive return to form at the Stuttgart Open.

The 21-year-old is still working her way back to her best following double wrist surgery last year.

She has struggled to repeat the form shown in her incredible US Open title win in 2021, but things are starting to look up.

Raducanu secured Great Britain’s qualification into the Billie Jean Cup at the weekend after beating Diane Parry 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-1).

And she then backed that up with a dominant win in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart on Wednesday evening.

The Brit beat former World No 1 Angelique Kerber 6-2, 6-1 to reach the second round of the tournament.

So Raducanu looks like she is heading back to her best, but that improvement in form doesn’t come without a cost.

Following her win over Kerber, she revealed on her Instagram page that she was undergoing physio treatment past midnight.

She is pictured lying on the physio bed, receiving some treatment on her legs with the time of 00:04 displayed on the photo.

There was also a caption alongside it that read: “Reality”

Raducanu posted herself receiving treatment at midnight

It gave fans a look behind the scenes at the aftermath of her impressive victory against Kerber and what she has to do to get tournament ready.

But Raducanu was delighted with the win and revealed her happiness in her post-match interview.

“It was obviously very difficult to play Angie,” she said. “She has so much history behind her.

“You’re not just playing Angie Kerber. You’re playing the person who achieved all those amazing results, so it’s definitely one of those where you have to get your mind around and try and play the ball in front of you.

“I think it wasn’t the prettiest match but I really did try to focus and think of the next point, the next ball ahead and not get too bogged down because there were some really long games.

“I’m just happy to have got through that.”

Raducanu will be back on the clay court in Stuttgart this evening as she takes on Linda Noskova in the second round.

talkSPORT betting tips – Best F1 bets and expert advice for Chinese Grand Prix

Max Verstappen’s Formula 1 title defence continues in this weekend’s Chinese Grand Prix, the fifth round of the 2024 Championship.

It has been five years since F1 last raced in China, and the cars have undergone dramatic changes since then.

This weekend will run to the sprint format for the first time this year, with a solitary hour of practice before sprint qualifying on Friday. That is likely to see some teams struggle to find a set-up that works, and we could be in for some surprises.

Chinese Grand Prix Tips

  • Carlos Sainz podium finish @ 4/5
  • Fernando Alonso top-six finish @ 9/4
  • Nico Hulkenberg points finish  @ 2/1

Sainz can continue to impress

Arguably, the most impressive driver of the season so far has been Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz.

The Spaniard has competed in only three of the four races, having missed out in Saudi Arabia due to a case of appendicitis, but he has finished on the podium in all of those, even winning the race in Australia.

The Ferrari has been a clear second-best car to the champion Red Bulls in the early part of the season, and Sainz finished only eight seconds behind Sergio Perez in the second Red Bull in Japan last time out.

Sainz sits only four points behind his team-mate Charles Leclerc despite missing that Saudi race, in which Leclerc picked up 16 points for finishing third and setting the fastest lap.

This year, Ferrari seem to have finally got on top of a long-standing issue whereby the cars dramatically lost pace in race conditions, primarily through destroying their tyres.

They are now able to deliver lap times throughout a stint in the race, which gives them more flexibility in their strategies.

Take Sainz to continue his 100% podium rate for the season in Shanghai.

Veteran Alonso to keep delivering

After 381 Formula 1 starts Fernando Alonso shows no signs of slowing down and the Aston Martin driver looks a good price to produce a top-six finish in China.

The Spaniard has recently inked a new contract with his team, which will keep him with the Silverstone-based squad through 2026.

Alonso has had a typically solid season, finishing ninth, fifth, eighth, and sixth in the first four races.

In fact, that eighth place was the result of a time penalty he was handed after the Australian Grand Prix for having been adjudged blameworthy in George Russell’s race-ending crash. Alonso had crossed the line sixth.

The Shanghai track should suit the Aston Martin, so Alonso can be among the first six to see the chequered flag for the fourth race in a row.

Take Hulkenberg to boost Haas’s tally

Another veteran enjoying a solid start to the season is Germany’s Nico Hulkenberg.

The 36-year-old registered top-ten finishes in Saudi Arabia and Australia and just missed out on points in Japan last time out, finishing 11th.

There is plenty of potential for chaos in China, where dicing drivers try to out-brake each other into the sharp corners, and dependable Hulkenberg could be one of the main beneficiaries if his midfield rivals tangle.

Sebastian Vettel can’t pick between ‘GOAT’ Lewis Hamilton and ‘hero’ Michael Schumacher but neither were his toughest competitor

Sebastian Vettel couldn’t choose between Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher as the best – but said neither was his toughest.

The four-time world champion was unable to separate his childhood hero from his ‘GOAT’ Hamilton when he sat down with talkSPORT.

Vettel grew up watching Formula 1 as his German compatriot Schumacher rose to become the sport’s most successful driver at Ferrari.

The 36-year-old entered F1 in 2007, a year after Schumacher’s retirement where he had claimed 91 race wins and seven world titles.

Vettel later had the chance to race alongside his hero after Schumacher made a comeback with Mercedes in 2010.

That coincided with Vettel’s championship-winning years at Red Bull before he made the move to Ferrari to hopefully emulate the F1 icon in restoring the Scuderia to its former glory.

However, Schumacher’s second retirement in 2012 saw Mercedes bring in Hamilton the following year, which resulted in the most successful driver-team partnership in F1 history.

During a celebrated 12 years with the Silver Arrows, the Brit superstar surpassed Schumacher’s race win record en route to winning six world titles to equal his record of seven.

During a wide-ranging quick-fire questionnaire with talkSPORT Vettel listed reigning Max Verstappen as the driver who surprised him most.

He also tipped Mercedes star George Russell for future glory, but crucially, was asked to pick between two of the best ever.

On the best driver he raced against, Vettel told talkSPORT: “I would say Michael and Lewis. Why? Because numbers speak for themselves.

“Michael was my hero and Lewis is the best in terms of statistics.”

Despite crowning them both as the greatest, neither won the additional accolade of being Vettel’s toughest competitor.

Schumacher in fairness was at the tail end of his storied career by the time he shared a track with Vettel – who in contrast was the best driver on the grid.

Alonso’s title challenges at Ferrari were tougher than later ones against Hamilton and Mercedes

However, Hamilton’s snub may come as a surprise, with the pair combining to win nine of the 10 championships in the 2010s while also going wheel-to-wheel during an epic rivalry across the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

Instead, when asked by talkSPORT for the toughest on track, Vettel broke out in a smile before replying: “Fernando [Alonso].

“I had close championships and close calls with him and throughout my career generally he’s the sort of driver who is always there.

“Very competitive – yeah I think he was the hardest competitor I faced.”

Two-time world champion Alonso was Vettel and Red Bull’s chief rival for their run of success in the early 2010s when he was at Ferrari.

The Spaniard – who has since replaced Vettel at Aston Martin – has forged a reputation for being F1’s ‘bad guy’ due to his wiley and explosive nature on-and-off track.
