Showing 8PM, Monday 31st October: Stoke v Swansea

A rejuvenated Stoke City host a troubled Swansea City on the match day 10 of 2016/2017 English premier league.

The Potters seems to have found their winning mentality after going on a 7 match win-less run in the new season. They baked up their first win against Sunderland with another win by the same 2-0 margin, but this time in the away trip to Hull City. Xherdan Shaqiri was the star of the show, who scored a brace and finished the evening with 2 goals in the encounter at the KCOM stadium.

While Swansea savaged their first point in 6 games, as they held Watford to a goalless draw last weekend. However, the Swans under a new boss will hoping for much improved performance in the coming weeks. However, an immediate success cannot be expected from a side that are currently on an 8 match win-less run in the league. Their lone win so far came in their visit to face the newly promoted side Burnley on matchday 1. They managed just 2 draws since then and suffered 6 defeats. Swansea are currently 19th in the league and a win could lift them out of the relegation zone depending upon results elsewhere.

Stoke City were held to a 2-2 draw, when Swans visited them for the Premier League fixture last season. The Potters edged a narrow 1-0 win in the reverse fixture at the Liberty Stadium.

In the last 10 meeting between the 2 sides, Stoke managed 4 wins compared to Swansea’s 3, while 3 matches end in stalemates.

Swansea have failed to win in their last 5 visit to Stoke, losing 3 times and gathering 2 draws.

Stoke City have finally started to edge close to their true potential. The two wins from last two matches will give them much needed confidence for the matchday 10 fixture, especially when it is played in their home ground. The Britannia stadium is a difficult ground for visiting sides. And Swansea haven’t won here in their last 5 visits. Moreover, they are low on confidence and are coming on the back of an 8 match win-less run. The hosts are firm favourites and we believe the likes of Shaqiri and Allen will once again produce performance of highest quality to see this game through.
