Emma Raducanu next match: Date, UK start time, opponent and tournament schedule as US Open star prepares for first round at Indian Wells
Emma Raducanu is set to return to the court for the first time since winning the US Open as she competes in the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells next week.
The 18-year-old defied all expectations after securing her first Grand Slam victory in Flushing Meadows, New York earlier this month and securing the ultimate prize without dropping a single set along the way.
Since then Raducanu has made a significant change behind-the-scenes after parting ways with coach Andrew Richardson and deciding that she needs someone with WTA experience at the highest level.
However with her tennis return now confirmed it means that attention turns to next week and her first opponent, before taking part in the Kremlin Cup which will start on Monday, October 18.
When is Emma Radicanu’s first match at Indian Wells?
Fans of Raducanu can expect to see her in action on Wednesday, October 6 or Thursday, October 7 when the first round gets underway.
The Brit was due to take part in the qualifying rounds on Monday and Tuesday but will now go straight into the main draw after being handed a wildcard for the competition.
The tournament will then run until Sunday, October 17 when the final of the BNP Paribas Open will take place.
Who will Emma Raducanu face at Indian Wells?
So far the 18-year-old’s first opponent is yet to be confirmed.
Raducanu would have been part of the draw for the qualifiers originally but after securing her wildcard it’ll now be at a later date when her opponent is announced.
The full first round draw will be available at close of play on Tuesday, October 5 when qualifiers have concluded.
