Formula 1 chief Toto Wolff has such a strict routine he has same meal every day for lunch and dinner when travelling

Toto Wolff has revealed he takes the Formula 1 season that seriously that he eats the same thing everyday – for lunch and for dinner.

The Mercedes principal and former racing driver is the most successful F1 manager in the sport’s history, winning eight consecutive constructors’ championships during his tenure.

But in order to be as victorious as he has been, it turns out Wolff has made some major lifestyle adjustments to focus all his energy on winning when travelling while Mercedes are competing.

“For me it is really reducing trivial things,” the 51-year-old told the BBC during a recent appearance on Desert Island Discs.

“I’m wearing the same clothes, I’m eating the same food – even to the point that my assistants book the same hotel room for me every single year.”

What is that same meal Wolff consumes every single day without fail, we hear you ask?

“The same dark bread – a pumpernickel with butter and some ham,” the Austrian explained.

“Small cappuccino – because I take half a cappuccino because I want to have another half an hour later.

“Then it’s chicken breast with tomato salad. And I have the same for dinner also!”

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton finished fourth at last weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix, whilst George Russell came in sixth.

Meanwhile, it was another convincing win for Red Bull’s reigning world champion Max Verstappen, who took sprint and race wins and extended his title lead to a whopping 125 points.
