Showing 7.45PM, Wednesday 3rd May: Monaco vs Juventus

Monaco’s young stars will “feel indestructible” when they face Juventus in the Champions League semi-final, but Juve keeper Gianluigi Buffon says the Italian side’s experience will be key.

Monaco stunned both Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund to reach the last four with some vibrant attacking play.

Buffon, 39, said: “They have youth and the insouciance that comes with it.

“But I think over the two matches, 180 minutes, experience will play into our hands.”

Monaco’s 18-year-old forward Kylian Mbappe has caught the eye of top European clubs with a run of five goals in four knockout matches against City and Dortmund, and Leonardo Jardim’s free-scoring team have scored 95 goals in 34 league games so far.

Showing 7.45, 11.11.16: World Cup Qualifier – England vs Scotland

Wayne Rooney will captain England in the World Cup qualifier against Scotland at Wembley on Friday.

The Manchester United forward was dropped for the 0-0 draw in Slovenia last month.

Scotland striker Steven Fletcher is a doubt after injuring a knee, but midfielder Scott Brown is expected to recover from a dead leg.

England are top of Group F with seven points from their three games, three ahead of fourth-placed Scotland.

On 31-year-old Rooney, England interim manager Gareth Southgate said: “He’s in a better place than for the last get-together in terms of sharpness and confidence.

“He’s an experienced player for a game like this and there is no hesitation to be playing him.”

Southgate said Arsenal forward Theo Walcott may “disappear off at any time” as his wife is pregnant.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane will be carefully assessed after ending a seven-week lay-off because of an ankle injury by scoring in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Arsenal.

“The first thing we have to do with Harry is check how he is,” said Southgate. “It was great to see him back scoring and with a smile on his face at the end of the game.”

Rochelle Clark is set to equal Jason Leonard’s England cap record on Wednesday as England Women take on France in the first of their November internationals at the Twickenham Stoop.

The Worcester Valkyries prop has been named on the bench for the clash with the reigning Six Nations champions, and will match Leonard’s mark of 114 caps if she comes on.

The 35-year-old made her debut back in 2003 and was part of the England team that won the World Cup two years ago.

And she admits the idea of equalling the cap record was something she could never have predicted when she made her Test bow 13 years ago.

“When I got my first cap, I never imagined I would go on to get so many,” Clark told BBC Sport.

“Getting my 100th cap was special and I imagine it will feel like that. I just want to get through the warm-up and make sure I am in one piece.

Showing 5.30pm, 29 October: Blackburn v Wolves

Blackburn Rovers fans have planned a protest against the club’s owners by arriving 18 minutes into their game against Wolves and then leaving after 75 minutes.

The timings are to do with the year 1875, when Rovers were formed.

Blackburn’s Indian owners Venky’s, run by the Rao family, took over in 2010 but have seen debts rise to £104.2m.

“We respect the fans’ right to protest,” Rovers director Mike Cheston told BBC Radio Lancashire.

“We will, as we always have, facilitate a peaceful protest. We want the fans to really get behind and support the team in a game that we desperately want to win.”

BBC Radio Lancashire and other press were not allowed to ask boss Owen Coyle about the protest on Thursday.

Local businessmen Ian Battersby and Ian Currie were reported to have made an investment proposal through their company Seneca Partners in May, but Venky’s denied receiving a bid and said they were committed to the club.

Blackburn are 22nd in the Championship with 12 points from 14 games so far this season.
